Please note – we’re on a hillside. Ghyll House is a working hill farm on the edge of Addingham Moorside, and that lovely position comes with one thing worth knowing: the field isn’t flat. Nowhere on the site is completely level – the ground slopes gently throughout, roughly 3 to 6 degrees. It’s the very slope that gives every pitch its sweeping views down Wharfedale. For tents it’s rarely an issue; just pitch with your heads uphill for a comfy night. If you’re bringing a caravan or campervan, do pack levelling ramps or chocks – and if you’d like a hand finding one of the gentler spots, just ask and we’ll point you to the best of them. We also have spare blocks and chocks to help level your vehicle.
